The Prattsburgh Community is a small town made up of approximately 2000 members. The town was formed in 1813 and named after the early settler, Joel Pratt, who arrived in the area in 1799. The community grew quickly with the introduction of the railroad in 1889, which continued to run until 1961. Today, Prattsburgh includes five churches, 911 ambulance and volunteer fire service, the library, school, and a variety local businesses.
The Prattsburgh Emergency Food Pantry has moved to 24 Main Street – the American Legion. They are open the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 1:00PM – 3:00PM and the third Saturday of each month from 1:00PM – 3:00PM.
